When looking for the best plasma table you will find two main categories of tables, the manual plasma table and the CNC plasma table.
Manual Plasma Table
The first type of table is a manual plasma table.
The manual plasma table is much like a normal table, but instead of a flat top for the table surface it has narrow metal slats with empty space in between.
If you will be using a handheld plasma cutter to cut by hand then a manual plasma table is probably what you are looking for.
Manual plasma tables are generally smaller and a lot less costly than a CNC plasma table.
If you are doing a low volume of simple cuts then a manual plasma table may be the best choice for you.
CNC Plasma Table
The other main type of plasma table is a CNC plasma table. A CNC plasma table uses computer numerical control.
This type of plasma table has a fixed plasma torch attached to a mechanism that moves the torch over the metal to be cut.
This mechanism is controlled by motors and a computer.
CNC plasma tables are nice because once you program a design into the machine you can cut that design over and over easily and reproduce it exactly each time.
As you might image, CNC plasma tables are generally much more expensive than manual plasma tables.
There are some entry level CNC plasma tables that are more affordable than you might expect though.
If you are doing more than basic cutting or you want to be able to produce a lot of the same cuts then a CNC plasma table is likely what you are looking for.
